Introduction Blog/Poem (Read Me)

Posted on Jun 4th, 2007 by CJ : Druidic Tendencies CJ
My blog is where I am going to showcase my poetry for anyone who wants to read it, comment on it, or critique it, whatever. The first one is going to be public, but after that they'll all be private. So, basically, hit me up, I love meeting new people.

This first poem is one of my favorites, it's called "Mother" and it. more or less, sums up what I believe in and who I am. Ironically, I wrote it before I really understood the term "Druid" and what it entails; to me, it just reinforces what I believe in now.

Mother

Following in the footsteps of everyone who came before
Looking for a path we haven't seen before
Looking for something that holds so much more
Seeking a path that speaks of more than just normalcy

Traveling through the forest green
Never noticing which way the trees really lean
Neither straight up or down
Always pointing you in the right direction
Always pointing towards the heaven blue

Setting our own pace
Pretending it's a race
Pretending we're all in first place

Losing sight of what's ahead
Facing backwards
Never forward
Looking inward
Never outward

Tangled in our floating past
Walking too fast
Falling too much
A never ending loss of words

Wandering through the forest, so serene
Listening to the trees whispering
As the path we take is continually changing
Becoming more alive, almost breathing
Teaching us their secrets, always teaching
As long as we are listening, always listening

Following the trees, oh so knowing
Leading you on and on; always growing
Showing, the right way home; guiding
Watching as you become; smiling
Crying, when you find your way; Loving
